They are currently seeking an experienced Civil / Temporary Works Engineer to support large-scale infrastructure and construction projects. This role is ideal for a technically skilled engineer with experience in temporary works design, planning, and site support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, review, and approve temporary works solutions in line with project requirements
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and site personnel to ensure safe and efficient construction methods
- Produce calculations, drawings, and documentation for temporary works structures
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support for construction activities
- Ensure compliance with design standards, health & safety regulations, and quality requirements
- Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies related to temporary works
- Support planning, reporting, and coordination activities across multidisciplinary teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered or near-chartered status desirable but not essential
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in civil or temporary works engineering
- Strong knowledge of temporary works design principles, construction methods, and materials
- Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, structural analysis tools)
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel to site locations and work collaboratively with project teams
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience in infrastructure, heavy civil, or industrial construction projects
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and health & safety regulations
- Hands-on experience supporting construction teams with temporary works solutions
- Familiarity with risk assessments and method statements
