Civil/Temp works Engineer

They are currently seeking an experienced Civil / Temporary Works Engineer to support large-scale infrastructure and construction projects. This role is ideal for a technically skilled engineer with experience in temporary works design, planning, and site support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, review, and approve temporary works solutions in line with project requirements
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and site personnel to ensure safe and efficient construction methods
• Produce calculations, drawings, and documentation for temporary works structures
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support for construction activities
• Ensure compliance with design standards, health & safety regulations, and quality requirements
• Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies related to temporary works
• Support planning, reporting, and coordination activities across multidisciplinary teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Chartered or near-chartered status desirable but not essential
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in civil or temporary works engineering
• Strong knowledge of temporary works design principles, construction methods, and materials
• Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, structural analysis tools)
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to travel to site locations and work collaboratively with project teams

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Experience in infrastructure, heavy civil, or industrial construction projects
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and health & safety regulations
• Hands-on experience supporting construction teams with temporary works solutions
• Familiarity with risk assessments and method statements
