We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fire Door Inspector to join our team based in Sevenoaks. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out thorough inspections of fire doors across a variety of buildings to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and industry standards. Your expertise will support the safety of building occupants and contribute to maintaining a robust fire protection strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of fire doors in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., BS 8214, BM TRADA, or equivalent).
  • Assess the condition, installation quality, and functionality of fire doors and associated hardware.
  • Identify non-compliances, hazards, or defects requiring remedial action.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and timely inspection reports.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and site personnel regarding inspection findings and recommendations.
  • Stay up to date with changes in fire safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Represent the company professionally when working on-site.

Requirements

  • Certified Fire Door Inspector qualification (e.g., FDIS, BM TRADA, or equivalent) – essential.
  • Strong understanding of fire safety legislation and passive fire protection principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspections.
  • Competent in using digital reporting tools or inspection software.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving licence (if applicable).
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
