Job Title: Health & Safety Advisor – Data Centre Construction

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of a large-scale data centre construction project in Vienna. The role will work closely with the project Health & Safety Manager, construction teams and subcontractors to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance are maintained throughout all phases of the project.
This position is suited to a proactive H&S professional with experience in complex, high-risk construction environments, ideally within data centres, mission-critical facilities or major MEP-led projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and monitoring of the project Health & Safety Management System.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with local legislation and project standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the site, engaging with supervisors, subcontractors and operatives.
- Review and approve method statements, risk assessments and permit-to-work documentation.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Monitor subcontractor H&S performance and intervene where standards are not being met.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, producing clear reports and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate H&S records and contribute to client and internal reporting requirements.
- Support emergency response planning and drills.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor on large-scale construction projects.
- Previous experience on data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, energy or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of European and Austrian health & safety legislation.
- Competent in contractor management, inspections and incident investigation.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence site teams at all levels.
- Relevant health & safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, or European equivalent).
- English required; German language skills are highly advantageous.
