Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full commissioning lifecycle from early design review through construction, testing, and handover.
  • Develop and manage commissioning plans, specifications, schedules, and procedures.
  • Chair commissioning meetings and coordinate activities across mechanical, electrical, controls, and specialist systems.
  • Oversee site commissioning, functional performance testing, and integrated systems testing (IST) where applicable.
  • Review and approve commissioning documentation, method statements, and test scripts.
  • Act as the primary technical interface with clients, contractors, designers, and authorities.
  • Manage and mentor commissioning engineers, providing technical leadership and quality oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards.
  • Identify and manage commissioning risks, issues, and close-out actions.
  • Support training, soft landings, and final handover to operations teams.

 

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Proven experience in a Lead CxA / Senior Commissioning Engineer role.
  • Strong background in commissioning complex building systems (HVAC, electrical, controls, life safety, or mission-critical infrastructure).
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects in data centres, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or other critical environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of commissioning standards, processes, and documentation.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and client-facing skills.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Belgium with some regional travel.
