Quantity Surveyor – Madrid | Data Centre Projects

Location - Madrid, Spain

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a major construction project in Madrid, working on a large-scale data centre development.

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of the project, working closely with the client, subcontractors, suppliers and wider professional team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing data centre project environment and work on a high-value, technically complex construction project.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain project contract budgets.
  • Manage the contractual and commercial aspects of the project.
  • Maintain accurate contract and commercial records.
  • Prepare monthly commercial and cost reports.
  • Attend contractor handover and contract review meetings.
  • Monitor cash flow, reporting and collections.
  • Identify commercial risks and implement appropriate risk management plans.
  • Manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and the professional team.
  • Support the procurement and administration of subcontract and material orders.
  • Monitor project costs, valuations and commercial performance.

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Experience with measurement, valuation and cost control.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and technologies.
  • Good knowledge of subcontractor and material procurement.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing commercial reports.
  • Good understanding of standard and bespoke construction contracts.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
  • Previous data centre, mission-critical or large-scale construction experience is highly desirable.
  • Spanish language skills are advantageous but not essential.
  • Fluent English.
  • Full working rights in the EU are required as work permit sponsorship is not available.
