Senior Energy Marshal – Data Centre (Client Side)

We are supporting the delivery of a large-scale hyperscale data centre project in Finland and are seeking an experienced Senior Energy Marshal to join the client-side team.

This is a critical electrical safety and control position, responsible for overseeing energy isolation, permit systems, and contractor compliance across a live mission-critical environment. You will act as the key authority for electrical safety on site, ensuring all works are planned, controlled, and executed to the highest standards.

Role Overview

Working from the client side, you will supervise contractors and take ownership of electrical energy management procedures, ensuring safe systems of work across LV/MV infrastructure. This role suits someone with a strong electrical background who has operated as an Appointed/Authorised Person or in a similar controlled systems environment on data centre or critical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the lead Energy Marshal responsible for electrical safety and energy control on site
• Manage isolations, switching operations, and permit-to-work/LOTO procedures
• Authorise and supervise contractors carrying out electrical works
• Oversee LV/MV systems and ensure compliance with project and statutory safety standards
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and operations teams
• Review RAMS, method statements, and safe systems of work
• Monitor contractor performance and enforce best practice
• Support commissioning and handover of critical electrical systems

Requirements

• Strong electrical background with LV/MV experience
• Data centre or other mission-critical/industrial project experience (essential)
• Experience working as an Appointed Person (AP), Authorised Person (SAP/AP), or similar controlled systems role
• Proven contractor supervision and site coordination experience
• Thorough understanding of electrical safety, isolation, and permit systems
• Ability to work client side in an office/site-based environment
• Willingness to work on rotation if required
