Job Description:

We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join a rapidly growing construction consultancy in Milton Keynes. This is a pivotal role as you will be the first person to represent our health and safety division in the area, with the opportunity to build and shape a team around you as the business grows.

You will be working on a range of exciting projects within the retail and education sectors, overseeing all aspects of health and safety compliance, risk assessments, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with the highest safety standards. If you're NEBOSH qualified, have fire assessing experience, and come from a consultancy or contractor background, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for both professional and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage health and safety on projects across the retail and education sectors.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, fire assessments, and site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to clients, contractors, and project teams.Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety management systems.
  • Manage health and safety documentation, including reports, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Support project teams to ensure health and safety practices are fully integrated into project plans and execution.
  • Develop and implement training programs to raise awareness of health and safety issues across the team and project site.
  • Lead the development of the health and safety team within the office, assisting in recruitment, mentoring, and growth of the division.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Ideal Candidate:

  • NEBOSH qualified (essential).
  • Experience with fire assessments and understanding fire safety regulations.
  • Proven experience in health and safety roles within the construction industry.
  • Ideally from a consultancy background, with the ability to adapt to both contractor and consultancy environments.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, policies, and best practices within the construction sector.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Experience managing and mentoring teams, or a strong desire to build and lead a team.Ability to develop, implement, and monitor health and safety procedures across a variety of projects.
  • Have knowledge of building regulations
