Access Talent Group is working with a highly regarded multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing Dublin team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and proactive engineer who enjoys leading structural design, delivering complex building projects and mentoring less experienced team members.
The successful candidate will take technical ownership of projects from concept through to construction, working across a broad range of sectors including commercial, industrial, residential, education, healthcare, civic buildings and data centres.

Since 2010, the practice has been at the forefront of data centre design, delivering projects across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe. It has also successfully implemented BIM from concept through to handover across a wide range of major projects.

Key responsibilities
Lead the structural engineering design and delivery of projects across commercial, industrial, residential, education, healthcare, civic and data centre sectors.Take technical ownership of projects from concept and planning through detailed design, tender and construction.Design and verify structural solutions using steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.Prepare, review and approve structural calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.Use and oversee structural analysis software including Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, TEDDS and similar packages.Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP consultants, fire consultants and other members of the design team.Lead the development and review of structural Revit models and BIM documentation.Represent the consultancy at client, stakeholder and design-team meetings.Carry out site inspections and provide technical support during construction.Monitor construction progress and assist with compliance under BCAR 2014.Review contractor submissions, temporary works designs, method statements and value-engineering proposals.Support or act as PSDP, Assigned Certifier or Ancillary Certifier where appropriate.Mentor junior and intermediate engineers.Contribute to technical design reviews with a focus on safety, sustainability, buildability, quality and cost efficiency.Assist with project planning, resourcing and programme management.Ensure projects are delivered on time and to a consistently high technical standard.
Candidate requirements
A Level 8 Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.A minimum of eight years’ relevant structural engineering experience.Significant experience working within a structural engineering consultancy.A strong record of delivering complex building projects through all design stages.Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations.Experience designing structures in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.Proficiency in structural design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, TEDDS or equivalent.Good working knowledge of Revit and BIM processes.Experience leading BIM coordination would be advantageous.Strong technical leadership and project-management skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.Excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.Previous experience mentoring junior engineers.Chartered Engineer status, or active progress towards chartership, is highly desirable.
