About the Role:
As a Bridge Engineer, you’ll be part of a new and fast-growing bridges team within an established multidisciplinary consultancy. You will contribute to the planning, design, inspection, and delivery of bridge and civil structures projects for a wide range of clients across rail, highways, and private sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake the design and assessment of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and related civil structures
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Conduct site inspections, structural assessments, and condition surveys
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines including geotechnical, highways, and environmental teams
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
- Support junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience working on bridge or structural projects in the UK (rail or highways preferred)
- Knowledge of Eurocodes, DMRB, and Network Rail or local authority standards
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, LUSAS, MIDAS, or similar
- Progress towards Chartership (or already Chartered) with ICE or IStructE is desirable
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
