Job Title: MMA Coded Welders
Location: South West England
Job Type: Contract (Initial 1-year contract, with potential to extend up to 6+ years)
Hours: Minimum 35 hours/week (expected availability: 50+ hours/week)
(PAYE) OR UMBERLLA
PAYRATES:
Welder Standard (STD): £34.50/hr
Welder Backshift (BS): £42.00/hr
Welder Sunday & Weekday Nightshift (WD NS): £46.00/hr
Welder Sunday Backshift/Nightshift: £49.00/hr
Referral Bonus: Earn up to £250 for referring successful candidates
The Opportunity:
A well-established marine engineering company is seeking Class 1 MMA SC Coded Welders to support a long-term vessel refit project throughout 2025. This is a high-profile, secure contract based in South West England, involving confined space and submarine environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for skilled welders with marine, heavy industry, or ship repair experience to join a major UK project and develop their technical career.
Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 or completed Apprenticeship in Welding/Fabrication
Certified Class 1 MMA Coded Welder
Ability to read and interpret welding codes and technical drawings
Strong MMA background in marine, shipbuilding, or heavy engineering
Confident working with 12mm and 25mm overhead welds in hand positions
Eligible for UK Security Clearance, BPSS, and DBS
Willing to relocate or travel to South West England (accommodation not provided)
Able to pass full compliance and reference checks
British passport and UK Citizenship required (to meet clearance and right to work obligations)
