A global engineering and solutions consultancy has approached us to assist with their recruitment plans in the UK, specifically to help find a Director of Strategy and Growth for their Nuclear and Power business unit across EMEA. Our client employs tens of thousands around the world, with over 1500 team members driving this business unit forward, with a team turnover approaching half a billon pounds. Our client is truly multidisciplinary, providing design and Engineering consultancy services to the biggest name and biggest projects in the world. After several years of 20% year on year growth, our client is looking for somebody who can take their business unit to the top.

The successful candidate will help shape this role around themselves, with the main drive being on developing new and fresh growth opportunities. With current focusses in the UK, France, Germany and the Middle East, you will play a key role in the expansion and development efforts of our clients’ Nuclear & Power EMEA business. You will bring a diverse approach to thought, think the unthinkable, and challenge the norm.  Supporting the growth of our existing client base whilst also expanding our client base and addressable market share.

Our client expects you to:

  • Develop new markets and geographies
  • Focus on internal market research as well as competitor analysis and intelligence
  • Oversee the (currently small) strategic bid team
  • Develop new strategic relationships with private and government partners

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • Demonstrable experience in delivering contracts, initiatives and deals worth £30m+
  • Proven ability to develop new and existing relationships
  • Experience working in either Heavy Civils, Engineering, Infrastructure or Nuclear and Power – The latter being a bonus but not a necessity
  • The ability to work from one of our Clients Offices – Almost all major UK cities. London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Bristol etc

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful team but take them to the top of their game. Our client is not interested in maintaining their 20% year on year growth. Unless they can find someone, who can, over time, improve that growth significantly, they have failed in their search. If this sounds like the role for you, get in touch or apply!
