The Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer will support the delivery of detailed electrical designs on a diverse portfolio of new-build and refurbishment projects, working across all RIBA stages. The role is based in the Cambridge office and offers access to experienced senior engineers who provide structured mentoring and technical guidance to support ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing detailed electrical designs within multidisciplinary design teams
- Using CAD and BIM (Revit) software to develop compliant and efficient systems
- Designing site-specific equipment and electrical infrastructure where required
- Coordinating with internal and external project stakeholders, including architects, structural engineers, and contractors
- Advising clients on energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and sustainability strategies
- Contributing to innovative design solutions across various sectors
Skills and Experience Required:
- Degree or higher qualification in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a similar electrical design role within the building services or construction sector
- Working towards or holding Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognised institution (e.g. CIBSE)
- Competence in the use of electrical design tools, including CAD and Revit
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- A proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement
