Professional Responsible (Faglig Ansvarlig) – HV Substation Projects (Norway)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Professional Responsible (Faglig Ansvarlig) to join a leading EPC contractor delivering high-voltage substation projects across Norway. This role will provide technical leadership and ensure all engineering activities comply with Norwegian regulations, industry standards and client requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with engineering, construction and project management teams, you will be responsible for maintaining technical quality, supporting engineering decisions and ensuring compliance across major HV substation projects powering hyperscale data centres.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Professional Responsible (Faglig Ansvarlig) for HV substation engineering projects in Norway.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with Norwegian regulations, standards and client specifications.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the design and construction phases.
• Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
• Support multidisciplinary engineering teams and resolve complex technical issues.
• Ensure engineering quality and consistency across all project disciplines.
• Liaise with clients, utilities, consultants and regulatory authorities where required.
• Support design reviews, risk assessments and constructability workshops.
• Ensure compliance with quality management systems and engineering best practice.
• Provide technical support during construction, testing, commissioning and project handover.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous technical development within the team.
• Support project planning, resource allocation and technical decision-making.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience as a Professional Responsible (Faglig Ansvarlig), Lead Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer on HV infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience with 132kV–420kV substations, transmission or power infrastructure projects.
• Excellent understanding of Norwegian regulations, NVE requirements and relevant IEC standards.
• Experience working on EPC substation projects is highly desirable.
• Strong technical knowledge of primary plant, protection & control systems and substation design.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English is essential. Norwegian language skills are highly advantageous.
• Eligible to act as Professional Responsible under Norwegian regulations.
