Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Construction & Industrial Fit-Out
Location: Milan, Italy

 

Overview
A leading international consultancy with a substantial project pipeline is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support construction and industrial fit-out projects in Milan. This position sits within a high-performing commercial team and offers long-term career progression, exposure to major multinational clients, and the opportunity to contribute to complex, high-value developments across Italy and wider Europe.

 

Key Responsibilities

Develop cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for construction and industrial fit-out schemes.

Conduct detailed cost analysis and assist in the procurement of subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist packages.

Review, negotiate, and recommend subcontractor and supplier quotations.

Track project budgets, forecast costs, and provide clear commercial reporting to senior management and clients.

Manage contract administration including variations, payment assessments, valuations, and claims.

Undertake site inspections to verify progress and ensure accurate measurement of completed works.

Work closely with project managers, design teams, and client stakeholders to maintain robust commercial control.

Identify commercial risks and opportunities, supporting value-engineering initiatives and cost-saving strategies.

Ensure all work complies with company procedures, client requirements, and local regulatory standards.

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience in construction or industrial fit-out projects; consultancy background strongly preferred.

Solid understanding of cost management, procurement processes, and contract frameworks (such as FIDIC or similar).

Strong commercial awareness, analytical capability, and negotiation skills.

Proficiency with QS tools and standard software packages.

Fluent English; Italian language skills are a strong advantage.

Confident communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
