Job Title: Senior Health & Safety Officer 

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and oversee all project safety advisors under your supervision.
• Champion a culture of safety by implementing and enforcing the company’s HSE policies and procedures across the project.
• Conduct routine site inspections, reporting findings and ensuring timely resolution of any issues identified.
• Ensure the project team is equipped with all necessary HSE documentation.
• Verify that project-specific HSE plans align with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate regular discussions on HSE matters during project review meetings.
• Maintain accurate records in line with internal policies and external audit standards.
• Support site management and subcontractors with risk assessments, evaluations, and documentation reviews when needed.
• Deliver HSE training sessions as agreed with the Project Manager.
• Propose and promote safety initiatives and forward recommendations to the Project and HSE & Sustainability Managers.
• Assist in incident investigations and ensure timely and effective closure of incident reports and inspection findings.
• Act as liaison with regulatory bodies such as the HSA and EPA when required.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HSE practices and report them accordingly.
• Represent the company at relevant HSE meetings and forums.
• Support managers with environmental and safety submissions, assessments, and vendor evaluations.
• Consistently uphold and promote the company’s HSE ethos and values.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Degree-level (Level 8) qualification in Health & Safety or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience in project HSE management.
• Proven track record as a Chartered Project Safety Advisor.
• In-depth knowledge of OHSAS 45001 standards.
• Chartered Member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
• Demonstrated capability to lead and manage major accident investigations.
