ATG are now looking for a skilled Precast Design Engineer to join a growing team in Dublin.
Role Summary:
The Precast Design Engineer will be responsible for the structural design, detailing, and coordination of precast concrete elements for a range of construction projects. Working closely with clients, architects, structural engineers, and the production team, you will ensure the efficient and accurate delivery of designs from concept through to manufacture and installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and detail precast concrete elements using CAD and BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, etc.)
- Prepare and review GA drawings, shop drawings, and reinforcement details
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to resolve design challenges and ensure compliance with project specifications and regulations
- Ensure all designs meet relevant Eurocodes, Irish Building Regulations, and industry standards
- Conduct structural analysis and calculations where required
- Coordinate with production and site teams to ensure seamless integration from design to installation
- Participate in design meetings and project planning sessions
- Maintain project documentation and assist in quality control checks
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in a structural or precast design role (graduate applications also considered with strong academic background)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Tekla Structures, Revit, or similar BIM tools is highly desirable
- Familiarity with structural design standards (Eurocodes, BS, etc.)
- Strong understanding of structural principles and construction processes
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
