We are working with a dynamic and growing multi-disciplinary SME consultancy, specialising in delivering high-quality solutions for private sector development projects. Their Transport team plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless and sustainable transport solutions that align with planning and infrastructure requirements. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated Transport Planner to join our team.

The Role:
As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of transport planning services for a range of private sector development projects. You will work closely with colleagues across various disciplines, providing expert advice and solutions to clients. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career progression within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking transport assessments, travel plans, and feasibility studies for private sector developments.
  • Providing technical input on transport and highways-related matters for planning applications.
  • Conducting data analysis, traffic modelling, and junction capacity assessments.
  • Engaging with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to support project delivery.
  • Contributing to the development of sustainable transport strategies.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant transport policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Supporting senior colleagues in business development and proposal writing.

About You:

  • A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field.
  • Experience in transport planning, ideally within a consultancy or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of transport planning principles, traffic modelling, and relevant software (e.g., TRICS, Junctions 9, LINSIG, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset with keen attention to detail.
