Acoustic Engineer – Bracknell (Office, Lab & Site-Based)

A science-driven, independent Building Services organisation is seeking an Acoustic Engineer to join its team in Bracknell. The company provides practical guidance and commercial solutions for the built environment and is known for its commitment to innovation and technical excellence. Operating from a well-equipped office and laboratory, the team delivers research, testing, and consultancy services that address real-world challenges in building performance.

This role offers a varied and hands-on opportunity, combining site-based acoustic testing, report writing, and in-house product assessments—including HVAC systems and heat pumps—conducted in the laboratory. The successful candidate will work alongside an established acoustics team and will receive training in areas where further development is needed. This position is ideal for a candidate who enjoys a balance of fieldwork, technical analysis, and laboratory testing, and is eager to broaden their skill set across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a wide range of acoustic services on-site and in the laboratory.
  • Validate procedures for both new and existing products and services.
  • Ensure all services are completed accurately, efficiently, and within defined timelines.
  • Conduct fault diagnosis and compile detailed technical reports.
  • Manage resources such as tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Provide feedback aimed at improving efficiency and reducing downtime.
  • Comply with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Support the execution of wider strategic initiatives and business plans.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in acoustic engineering or consultancy.
  • Proficient in acoustic testing methods and industry standards.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Comfortable with fieldwork, laboratory testing, and desk-based reporting.
  • Resides within a commutable distance to Bracknell.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn and engage with additional technical disciplines.

This position offers a supportive and collaborative working environment, opportunities for continued professional development, and the chance to expand technical expertise across a range of services. Applications are encouraged from individuals seeking a diverse and rewarding career in acoustic engineering.
