A well-established engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial projects is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to lead the Structures department in the Nottingham office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team and heading up the Structures division locally. The role involves developing business, meeting clients, and winning new work, while also contributing technically to projects. In addition, the Associate Structural Engineer will oversee office organisation and management tasks, ensuring the department runs smoothly and efficiently. This position offers autonomy, influence, and the opportunity to make a significant impact on the direction of the office.

  • Chartered or near-Chartered Structural Engineer (MICE or MIStructE preferred)
  • Proven experience in leading projects across residential, commercial, or industrial sectors
  • Strong track record in client-facing roles, including business development and winning work
  • Team leadership or management experience, with the ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving ability
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to commute to the Nottingham office at least 4 days per week (with some flexibility available)
