Design Detailer / CAD Technician / Draughtsman

Position Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Design Detailer / CAD Technician to strengthen our design and engineering team within a specialist steel fabrication and installation environment. You will contribute to delivering precision-engineered structural and architectural components by converting architectural concepts into fabrication-ready models and detailed drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Develop accurate CAD models and technical drawings for bespoke steel staircases, balustrades, and railing systems.
Translate architectural plans and sketches into detailed fabrication drawings.
Work collaboratively with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to finalize design solutions.
Ensure technical drawings meet production standards and adhere to CAD best practices.
Maintain revision control and documentation accuracy.
Conduct detail checks and assist with design coordination to resolve any engineering or manufacturability issues.
Qualifications & Experience
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent).
Proven experience in structural or architectural detailing, particularly with steel fabrication.
Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and construction principles.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality technical documentation.
Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple design tasks.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities to liaise across disciplines effectively.
