A Birmingham-based design practice is seeking a Director of Landscape to lead and grow and develop its team. This is a senior leadership role within a multidisciplinary studio of 10, with clear plans to double in size over the next five years. The appointment represents a significant step in the evolution of the practice, offering the successful candidate both autonomy and influence within an ambitious and collaborative team.

The studio works across a broad mix of project types including public realm, town centre regeneration, masterplanning, green infrastructure strategies, parklands, and major mixed-use developments. Their work is underpinned by a strong design ethos and a belief in the value of integrated thinking across urban design, planning and landscape.

 

The Director of Landscape will:

Lead the landscape discipline within the studio

Oversee the delivery of a diverse range of landscape and public realm projects

Develop and maintain client relationships, taking an active role in business development

Collaborate with the senior leadership team on business strategy and growth

Support and mentor junior and mid-level staff, helping to shape a positive and inclusive studio culture

 

Applicants should be:

A Chartered Landscape Architect with substantial post-qualification experience

Comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex project programmes

Experienced in client engagement and work-winning

Looking to step into a director-level role or expand their leadership responsibilities

Thoughtful, commercially aware, and confident in contributing to wider practice development
