Environmental Consultant

ATG are seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental Consultant to join a team in Dublin. The successful candidate will provide expert environmental advice and support to clients across a range of sectors, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, delivering sustainability goals, and managing environmental risks on diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs), site assessments, and environmental audits.
• Advise on environmental regulations and best practices in accordance with Irish and EU legislation.
• Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and environmental management plans.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure project compliance.
• Monitor environmental conditions during project delivery and post-completion.
• Support the development and implementation of sustainability strategies.
• Assist in the delivery of environmental due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and planning.
• Conduct fieldwork including soil, water, and air quality sampling and analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years’ experience in an environmental consultancy or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Irish and EU environmental legislation.
• Experience with EIARs, planning applications, and environmental compliance.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and GIS tools.
• Full clean driving licence (fieldwork may be required).

Desirable

• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIWEM, IEMA, IEEM, or Engineers Ireland).
• Experience in sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, or construction.
• Project management experience or qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
• Experience in climate risk, ESG reporting, or circular economy practices.
