HSE Lead – Data Centre Project
We’re looking for a hands-on HSE Lead to take full ownership of health, safety, and environmental performance on a flagship data centre project. This is a key site leadership role where you’ll act as the primary point of contact for all HSE matters, driving standards, influencing culture, and ensuring safe delivery across a fast-paced, high-value build.
You’ll be responsible for implementing and managing the complete HSE strategy on site, working closely with project leadership, contractors, and client representatives to maintain best-in-class safety performance. Alongside this, you’ll have the opportunity to build and develop a small HSE team as the project progresses.
Crucially, this role offers a clear pathway into a Regional HSE Manager position, overseeing multiple data centre projects across the Nordics and wider Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all HSE activities on site as the main point of contact for the project
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve HSE plans, procedures, and systems
- Drive a proactive safety culture across all contractors and stakeholdersEnsure full compliance with local legislation, client standards, and company policies
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessmentsLead incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions
- Support and challenge project teams to embed safe systems of workManage and coordinate subcontractor HSE performance
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training initiativesBuild, mentor, and manage a growing HSE team on site
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an HSE Lead or Senior HSE Advisor on large-scale construction projects (data centre experience highly desirable)
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices within construction or mission-critical environments
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels on site
- Experience managing multiple contractors in a high-risk environment
- Relevant HSE qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent)
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced project environment
