Project Director – High Voltage Substations (EPC Projects)

We’re seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of large-scale, high-voltage substation projects across complex EPC environments. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of project performance from concept through to commissioning, giving you the opportunity to drive strategy, lead high-performing teams, and deliver critical infrastructure at scale.

You’ll act as the driving force behind project success — ensuring safe delivery, commercial performance, and client satisfaction — while operating at the forefront of major energy and infrastructure developments.

The Role

• Take full ownership of end-to-end EPC project delivery, from early-stage planning through to commissioning and closeout
• Lead and build multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, and constructionDrive programme, budget, and commercial performance on high-value projects
• Act as the key interface with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies
• Provide technical oversight across high-voltage substation design and construction (up to 400kV)
• Implement and maintain best-in-class project controls, risk management, and reporting
• Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring HSE excellence across all phases
• Mentor and develop project teams, building capability across the organisation

What We’re Looking For

• Proven track record delivering large-scale EPC projects within the transmission or utilities sector
• Strong experience with high-voltage substation projectsExcellent leadership skills with the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Commercially astute, with strong budget and cost control experience
• Deep understanding of engineering, construction, and project delivery best practices
• Confident communicator, capable of influencing at all levels
