We are recruiting for an experienced HV Estimator to join a growing engineering and project delivery team working on major HV/MV substation and data centre projects across Scandinavia and Europe.

The Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for HV electrical infrastructure projects, working closely with engineering, procurement and project teams to understand project requirements, develop quantities and costs, and support the preparation of commercial tenders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and cost plans for HV/MV substation projects.
• Review project drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Develop material and equipment quantities and associated costs.
• Estimate HV equipment including transformers, AIS/GIS switchgear, protection and control systems, cabling and auxiliary systems.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Work closely with engineering and procurement teams to validate technical and commercial assumptions.
• Identify project risks, exclusions and potential cost impacts.
• Prepare tender submissions, cost breakdowns and commercial documentation.
• Analyse supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
• Support value engineering and cost optimisation during the tender stage.
• Assist with tender clarifications and client queries.
• Maintain estimating databases, benchmarks and historical project cost information.
• Support the handover of successful projects from estimating into project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience in estimating or cost management within electrical infrastructure.
• Strong experience with HV/MV substations, electrical infrastructure or similar complex projects.
• Understanding of HV equipment, including transformers, AIS/GIS switchgear, protection and control and cabling.
• Experience reviewing electrical drawings, specifications and BOQs.
• Strong understanding of supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Experience preparing tenders and detailed cost estimates.
• Strong Excel and cost-analysis skills.
• Experience working on EPC/EPCM projects is advantageous.
• Data centre experience is highly desirable.
• Experience with Scandinavian or European projects is advantageous.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Portuguese is advantageous.
• EU citizenship is preferred due to international project requirements.
