Procurement Engineer – HV/MV Substations

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Procurement Engineer to join a growing engineering and project delivery organisation working on major HV/MV substation projects for data centre and industrial clients across Scandinavia and Europe.

This is a key procurement position, responsible for managing the sourcing, technical evaluation and procurement of electrical infrastructure equipment. You will work closely with engineering, project management and suppliers to ensure equipment is procured to the required technical specification, budget and project schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage procurement plans aligned with project programmes.
• Source and evaluate suppliers for HV/MV electrical equipment.
• Prepare and manage RFQs and coordinate technical specifications with engineering teams.
• Carry out technical and commercial bid evaluations.
• Prepare bid comparison reports and procurement recommendations.
• Manage supplier relationships, technical clarifications and documentation.
• Support supplier negotiations, purchase orders and procurement contracts.
• Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and supplier inspections.
• Monitor manufacturing, expediting and equipment delivery schedules.
• Work closely with engineering and project teams throughout the procurement process.
• Support construction teams with equipment documentation and supplier coordination.

Equipment Experience

Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure equipment is required, including:

• HV/MV transformers
• AIS and GIS switchgear
• Protection and control systems
• Auxiliary systems
• Electrical equipment used within data centre infrastructure

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Procurement, Engineering Management or a related discipline.
• 10+ years' experience in electrical equipment procurement.
• Strong experience procuring HV/MV substation equipment.
• Experience working on EPC/EPCM infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience with RFQs, technical bid evaluations and supplier negotiations.
• Strong understanding of electrical equipment specifications and procurement processes.
• Experience working with Nordic or international suppliers is advantageous.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Portuguese is advantageous.
• EU citizenship is preferred due to travel requirements across Scandinavia.
