I’m working with a leading UK-based team of transport planners and engineers who are driving forward the sustainable mobility and energy transitions essential to tackling climate change. They partner with clients committed to delivering active, low-carbon, and future-ready transport solutions, shaping places that prioritise people and sustainability.

This team has built an environment where talented professionals thrive—combining technical excellence with creativity, and offering the chance to learn from international colleagues bringing world-class placemaking insights. It’s a collaborative, forward-thinking workplace where your expertise in transport planning can make a real impact while supporting your professional growth.

They are a consultancy who design and deliver active, sustainable places where walking, cycling, and public transport come first. Their work is driven by vision-led transport planning and placemaking principles, grounded in a strong understanding of development and built environment transport needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating people-focused places through transport strategies that balance future travel forecasts with real-world user needs.
  • Applying proportionate and pragmatic transport modelling to support high-quality development.
  • Providing expert input into planning applications, underpinned by knowledge of planning legislation and sustainable development practices.
  • Collaborating with architects, planners, urban designers, landscape architects, and environmental specialists to secure planning consents and shape places people are proud to call home.

What they are Looking For

They're seeking a transport planning professional who can bring technical expertise, consultancy experience, and a collaborative approach. You should be able to:

  • Demonstrate a strong consultancy background with a proven track record in delivering transport planning advice and building trusted client relationships.
  • Manage and deliver successful projects across diverse sectors, including Care, Education, Health, Leisure, Warehousing/Distribution, Residential, and Mixed-use.
  • Bring robust technical skills in development-related transport planning, such as:
  • Site and junction assessments
  • Engineering design input and co-design
  • Accessibility and connectivity analysis
  • Access and movement strategies
  • Transport Statements/Assessments and Travel Plans
  • Section 106 advice
  • Construction Transport Management Plans
  • Oversight of post-consent activities
  • Apply knowledge of transport design guidance (e.g. DMRB, Manual for Streets, active travel standards).
  • Grow and maintain client relationships, identify new opportunities, and contribute to business success.
  • Leverage a strong professional network and positive client referrals.
  • Communicate complex ideas clearly, both in writing and verbally.
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification (e.g. Chartered Engineer, TPP, or equivalent).

Beyond the Day Job
They're looking for someone who contributes to the profession and industry by:

  • Participating in professional associations, working groups, or forums.
  • Sharing expertise through speaking engagements, publications, or thought leadership.
  • Staying ahead of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Supporting the development of industry standards or influencing policy discussions.
  • Mentoring and developing peers or early-career professionals.
