Our client, a leading specialist in water infrastructure and environmental engineering, is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead their procurement operations across a range of innovative water projects. With a growing portfolio of critical infrastructure work across the UK and internationally, this is a key hire that will directly support the delivery of sustainable water solutions.
About the Role:
As Procurement Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies to support major project delivery, ensuring cost-effectiveness, compliance, and efficiency across the supply chain. You'll work closely with engineering, project management, and commercial teams to source key materials, services, and subcontracts critical to water treatment and distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage end-to-end procurement strategies for water infrastructure projects
- Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier relationships
- Ensure full compliance with relevant procurement and environmental regulations
- Monitor market trends and supply risks to support informed purchasing decisions
- Work collaboratively with project managers to ensure procurement aligns with project timelines and budgets
- Manage procurement reporting, spend analysis, and performance metrics
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a procurement management role, ideally within the water, utilities, or civil engineering sectors
- Strong understanding of procurement regulations, contracts (e.g., NEC), and supplier management
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) preferred
- Knowledge of sustainability and environmental considerations in procurement is a strong advantage
