Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced and highly capable Project Manager to oversee the lifecycle of diverse and technically challenging projects—from initial concept through design and construction, all the way to completion and aftercare. Ideally suited to candidates with an engineering or environmental background, this role involves balancing strong technical insight with effective leadership and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

Based in Cardiff, you’ll be joining a long-established consultancy that works across architecture, engineering, and the environmental sectors. Known for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions, the team works on a wide range of impactful projects across the UK and internationally. The company offers a collaborative working environment, excellent professional development opportunities, and a strong commitment to quality and environmental responsibility.

What You’ll Do:

Project Leadership & Coordination

Define project objectives, deliverables, and milestones in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

Develop detailed project programmes, monitor key timelines, and ensure progress is tracked and adapted as needed.

Guide the project team through all phases, ensuring cohesion between disciplines.

Team Collaboration

Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineers, architects, environmental scientists, archaeologists, GIS specialists, and more.

Act as the communication hub between technical teams, clients, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders.

Financial & Risk Management

Create and oversee project budgets, track spending, and maintain financial performance.

Identify potential challenges early, implementing risk mitigation strategies to maintain momentum.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as the main point of contact throughout the project, ensuring client expectations are clearly understood and met.

Provide consistent updates and clear reporting on milestones, issues, and outcomes.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

Ensure that all deliverables meet regulatory standards, health and safety requirements, and internal quality benchmarks.

Lead post-project reviews to identify successes and areas for improvement.

What You Bring:

A degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or a related technical field (a Master’s or PMP qualification is advantageous).

A minimum of five years’ experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects.

Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).

Excellent leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.

Familiarity with relevant compliance standards (e.g., ISO, CE marking, health and safety legislation).

Desirable Extras:

Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies.

Technical fluency with CAD, GIS, simulation, or engineering design software.

Ability to juggle multiple projects effectively in a dynamic consultancy setting.

About the Team:
You’ll be part of a well-respected, Cardiff-based consultancy known for its multidisciplinary approach, integrating architecture, planning, environmental science, and engineering.
