About the Company
My client is an established architectural practice based in Dubai, delivering large-scale, complex projects across multiple international markets. The studio works with leading global developers and stakeholders on high-profile developments, and is recognised for its structured project delivery, strong technical expertise, and collaborative working culture. The practice places a strong emphasis on quality, accountability, and long-term client relationships.
Role Overview
My client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of architectural projects. Reporting to senior leadership, the role involves managing projects from appointment and concept design through to construction documentation and completion. The Project Manager will play a key role in client management, team leadership, and financial oversight, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards — often within fast-paced and demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Client Management:
- Manage architectural projects across all phases, from project initiation and concept design through to IFC and project close-out.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, including major international developers, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of project and commercial matters.
- Prepare, negotiate, and administer client and consultant proposals, fees, contracts, and project schedules.
- Define, monitor, and control project scope, deliverables, programmes, and work plans in line with internal standards and project objectives.
- Chair and document client, consultant, and internal team meetings, ensuring accurate and well-maintained project records.
- Manage variations, additional services, and change orders in coordination with senior management and finance teams.
- Ensure contractual compliance and oversee the orderly close-out of projects.
- Financial & Risk Management
- Maintain responsibility for project budgets, forecasts, and overall financial performance.
- Provide timely and accurate project information to support invoicing and financial reporting.
- Support the management of client payments and outstanding receivables where required.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks, including technical and contractual issues, particularly on large and complex developments.
- Team & Resource Leadership
- Ensure effective integration of design, technical, and delivery aspects across all project stages.
- Monitor project team performance and coordinate staffing resources with senior management.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional team environment, even during high-pressure project phases.
- Support staff development through mentoring, training, and guidance.
- Design & Technical Oversight
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of architectural design processes, production methodologies, and construction documentation.
- Assess the technical implications of design decisions and guide teams toward well-resolved solutions.
- Uphold project and practice standards for design quality, execution, and sustainability.
- Business Development Support
- Contribute to business development and marketing initiatives, including the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
- Support cross-team collaboration and long-term client relationship development to encourage repeat business.
Qualifications & Experience
- Professional degree in Architecture and/or Project Management.
- Minimum of 10 years’ professional experience, with at least 5 years based in the UAE.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale projects for major developers or international clients.
- Strong knowledge of architectural design, construction documentation, materials, and construction administration.
- Demonstrated experience in project financial management, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Proficiency in ERP project management platforms and scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Working knowledge of CAD and/or Revit/BIM software.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations, balance competing priorities, and remain professional and composed in challenging environments.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused mindset.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client presentation skills.
- Professional licensure or registration is advantageous.
