Risk & Warranty Surveyor

As part of this role, the successful candidate will be given the training and support required to develop towards becoming a Registered Building Inspector (RBI).

This makes the position particularly attractive to an experienced surveyor who wants to broaden their technical skill set and develop a long-term career across warranty, risk surveying and building control.

The Role

• Carrying out technical and risk-based inspections of residential and commercial developments.
• Undertaking warranty and construction risk surveys at various stages of projects.
• Assessing construction methods, materials, workmanship and potential defects.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and construction information.Identifying construction risks and providing recommendations to minimise exposure.
• Producing detailed and accurate technical inspection reports.
• Monitoring projects through key construction stages.
• Liaising with developers, contractors, consultants, insurers and other stakeholders.
• Providing technical advice on construction quality, defects and compliance.
• Working towards the knowledge and competencies required to become a Registered Building Inspector.

About You

• We are looking for someone with a strong background in building surveying, construction, warranty or technical risk surveying.
• You will ideally have:
• Experience as a Risk Surveyor, Warranty Surveyor, Building Surveyor or similar.
• Strong knowledge of construction technology and building defects.
• Experience inspecting residential developments and/or commercial buildings.
• Good understanding of construction methods, materials and workmanship.
• An interest in developing a career within building control.
• Strong report-writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Relevant qualifications such as MRICS, AssocRICS, CIOB or equivalent would be advantageous.
