We are now looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic transport planner at a relatively early stage in their career to be trained as a Road Safety Auditor and to help bring our innovative Safe System work to life by working on best practice projects. You will be given the opportunity to accelerate your career by working alongside industry experts, within an inclusive and caring company environment.
Responsibilities:
- An enthusiastic self-starter with an interest in road safety
- Ready to learn about and contribute to the work of our Safe and Active Travel Team
- Have some experience in the design of roads infrastructure. This experience can have been gained at any stage of the design process – from concept to detailed design.
- Able to manage time effectively, collaborating with colleagues to deliver to scope and budget
- Equipped to develop and maintain relationships with clients, helping to secure new work
- Flexible to travel across the UK in the course of delivering project work.
- Able to contribute to other projects across the advisory group as required
- As a Road Safety Auditor you must be able to visit anywhere on a road network therefore for this role, a full driver’s licence is essential.
Candidate Profile:
- A curiosity and enthusiasm for improving the safety record on our roads, by working to reduce the numbers of people killed or seriously injured each year.
- Exceptional general transport planning skills and a background or relevant qualification in engineering design
- Knowledge and skills to extract and analyse data sets to derive valuable insights
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Excellent report-writing skills
