Ireland's premier civil, structural, and engineering consultancy is seeking a Hydrogologist and Hydraulic Modeller to join their esteemed team of technical experts. As a multidisciplinary firm, our client is dedicated to shaping a low-carbon future while fostering a workplace culture that promotes growth, flexibility, and creativity.

The role involves spearheading strategic flood risk assessments for land-use plans in the UK and Ireland, overseeing surveys, hydrological estimation, and statistical analysis. Additionally, it includes performing site-specific flood risk assessments for different developments and offering guidance on structural and drainage considerations to relevant teams. Collaborating with colleagues from various disciplines, providing support during Oral Hearings, and mentoring junior staff are also key responsibilities within the position.

Requirements:

  • Eight years of relevant experience and hold an Honours degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Expertise in hydrological estimation methodologies, strategic and site-specific flood risk assessments
  • 1D-2D flood modeling, particularly with software like ICM
  • Strong organizational and project management skills are essential, along with leadership qualities and proficiency in communication and report writing
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff
  • Ideally hold chartered membership in a recognised professional body.
