Our client is one of Ireland’s most respected and innovative contractors in the power and renewables sector. They are now seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team and play a key role in their continued growth within the power and renewables industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management & Estimation: Oversee the cost control processes, including accurate and timely estimation, and manage project budgets from inception through to completion.
  • Tender & Contract Administration: Lead the preparation of tenders, review contracts, and manage negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and contractual compliance.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards, working alongside project managers and other senior stakeholders.
  • Risk & Value Management: Assess and mitigate potential risks, monitor financial performance, and seek value engineering opportunities to enhance project profitability.
  • Team Leadership & Mentoring: Support and mentor junior surveyors, providing guidance and knowledge sharing to help foster their professional development.
  • Client Liaison: Act as a key point of contact for clients, attending meetings, reporting on project progress, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, with a focus on power, renewables, or civil engineering projects.
  • Qualification: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Membership with a professional body (e.g., RICS, SCSI) is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Proven experience in managing budgets, estimating, and negotiating contracts within the energy or construction sectors.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the power and renewables industry, including familiarity with the regulatory and environmental considerations in Ireland.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using QS software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with cost management systems is a plus.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
