Role Overview
ATG are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Flood Risk Consultant to join a Dublin office. The successful candidate will lead and manage flood risk assessment projects, advising clients on mitigation strategies, compliance, and climate resilience. This role combines technical expertise, project management, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead flood risk assessments (FRA) and hydraulic/hydrological modelling for urban and rural developments.
- Prepare detailed flood risk reports and planning submissions in accordance with Irish and EU regulations, including OPW, CFRAM, and local authority guidelines.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to identify flood risk issues and recommend mitigation measures.
- Develop and implement sustainable drainage strategies (SuDS) and flood mitigation solutions.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, and statutory bodies to provide expert advice on flood risk management.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing technical guidance and support.
- Contribute to business development through proposal writing, client engagement, and knowledge sharing.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging legislation, policy, and industry best practice in flood risk management and climate adaptation.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or related field.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) status desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in flood risk assessment, hydrological modelling, or water management consultancy.
- Proven experience with HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, MIKE FLOOD, or similar hydraulic modelling software.
- Strong knowledge of Irish flood risk policy, planning regulations, and design standards.
- Experience managing complex projects and delivering high-quality reports to clients.
