This is a key role in supporting the Director and providing mentorship and technical oversight across projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage environmental and civil engineering projects from feasibility through to delivery.
  • Develop strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on regulatory, technical, and strategic matters.
  • Oversee the preparation of technical reports, EIARs, planning documentation, drainage and site infrastructure designs, and contract documentation.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers and environmental scientists.
  • Support business development efforts, including tender preparation, fee proposals, and strategic input on project bids.
  • Represent the company at public consultations, stakeholder meetings, and planning hearings as required.
  • Drive innovation and best practices within the team, promoting sustainable design principles.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline (Chartered Engineer status preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in civil/environmental engineering consultancy or similar, with a proven track record in project and team management.
  • Deep understanding of Irish planning and environmental legislation, including EIA, AA, and permitting processes.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering large-scale infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy, or development projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client engagement skills.
  • Commercial acumen and experience in budgeting, resourcing, and project finance.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant design standards, software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD), and industry guidelines.
