ATG are seeking an ambitious and experienced Associate Structural Engineer to join a Dublin office. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading design teams, managing projects, and providing technical leadership on a wide variety of structural engineering projects.
You will be a client-facing representative, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard while supporting the strategic growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage structural design projects from concept through to completion.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
- Carry out detailed structural analysis and design across steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures in accordance with Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations.
- Review and approve design deliverables, drawings, and reports.
- Engage with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to develop strong working relationships.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Contribute to business development through bid preparation, proposal writing, and client presentations.
- Ensure all work is compliant with health & safety, quality, and sustainability standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent professional body.
- 8+ years’ experience in structural design and project delivery, ideally within consultancy.
- Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on medium to large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, Irish/UK building regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
- Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Tekla, Robot, Etabs, Tedds, or similar).
- Commercial awareness and ability to contribute to business development.
