The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Associate Transport Planner to join our dynamic Transport Planning team. You’ll play a key role in leading the development of transport strategies, business cases, modelling and assessments for public and private sector clients across the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Lead and manage the delivery of a wide range of transport planning projects
  • Provide technical expertise across transport policy, strategy, modelling, appraisal, and business case development (in line with WebTAG and DfT guidance)
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contribute to project management, ensuring delivery on time and to budget
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, and external partners to develop innovative, sustainable transport solutions
  • Mentor junior colleagues and support team development
  • Assist in business development, including writing proposals and contributing to bids

About You - 

  • Degree qualified in Transport Planning, Geography, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Significant experience in transport planning, ideally with consultancy or public sector background
  • Strong understanding of relevant transport appraisal methodologies (e.g., DfT’s TAG, Green Book, business case development)
  • Experience in project leadership, client engagement, and stakeholder consultation
  • Proficiency in modelling and analytical tools (e.g., SATURN, VISUM, EMME, TUBA, or similar) is desirable
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills
  • Chartered or working toward a relevant professional qualification (e.g., TPP, CEng, MRTPI)
