Civil 3D Technician

An established engineering consultancy based in Naas, Co. Kildare is seeking an experienced Civil 3D Technician to join their growing design team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician with strong Civil 3D experience to work on a diverse range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will work closely with civil engineers and project teams, producing high-quality technical drawings and 3D models from concept through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Develop 3D models, surfaces, alignments, profiles and corridors.
• Produce detailed drawings for roads, drainage and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare general arrangement drawings, construction details and setting-out information.
• Develop road and drainage layouts from engineering designs.
• Assist engineers with the preparation of technical drawings and documentation.
• Produce drawing packages for planning, tender and construction stages.
• Update drawings and models in accordance with design changes.
• Liaise with engineers, surveyors and other technical disciplines.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards and project requirements.
• Assist with the preparation and management of BIM deliverables.
• Maintain drawing standards, templates and document control.

Project Experience

The role will provide exposure to a varied portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, potentially including:

• Site development and infrastructure
• Major infrastructure projects

Requirements

• 3+ years' experience working as a Civil Engineering Technician.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience producing detailed civil engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of roads, drainage and infrastructure design.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with Irish civil engineering standards would be advantageous.

• Civil 3D corridor modelling.
• Surface and terrain modelling.
• Road and drainage design.
• Pipe networks and utility modelling.
• MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage experience.
• BIM experience.Revit experience.
• Experience working on TII or local authority projects.
• Knowledge of Irish planning and construction standards.
