Stantec Senior Civil Water

A leading global engineering consultancy is expanding its civil engineering team in across the UK to support the delivery of next-generation water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This is a pivotal opportunity to join at the start of a long-term capital delivery programme that is redefining how infrastructure is planned, designed, and delivered.

The team works at the forefront of innovation, sustainability, and collaborative delivery. You will be involved across the full project lifecycle — from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design and construction support — contributing to projects that deliver meaningful outcomes for communities and the environment.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will lead the delivery of complex civil design elements on major water and wastewater schemes. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, project leaders, contractors, and clients to develop high-quality, buildable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading civil engineering design inputs on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers and technical leads, to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Engaging with clients, contractors, regulators, and planning authorities throughout project delivery.
  • Contributing to design development, optioneering studies, and value-engineering exercises.
  • Supporting Design & Build collaboration to align technical design with constructability and commercial requirements.
  • Providing technical assurance, design leadership, and creative problem-solving expertise.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers through structured development and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standards.

About you

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
  • Chartered or actively working toward professional accreditation (e.g. ICE, CIWEM).
  • Strong experience within the UK water industry, including detailed design and delivery.
  • Proven ability to lead, collaborate, and influence multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong technical judgement with attention to quality, risk, value, and long-term outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

Why Join

  • Be part of a high-performing regional team with autonomy and strong technical support.
  • Contribute to long-term infrastructure programmes with a secure pipeline of work.
  • Work in a collaborative, down-to-earth environment that values innovation and practical thinking.
  • Access structured career development, mentoring, and defined progression pathways.
  • Take advantage of extensive training opportunities across disciplines and leadership.
  • Flexible working arrangements and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • A culture that prioritises sustainability, integrity, and doing the right thing.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a leading international consultancy with project work across the UK. If you are interested in the role, please contact Cameron Green on 02380981322 or Email Cameron.Green@accesstg.com.
