Project Quantity Surveyor – Job DescriptionRole Purpose
The Project Quantity Surveyor will work across one or multiple contracts to ensure maximum commercial benefit for the company. The role covers full project lifecycle responsibility—from tender stage through to final accounts—along with all associated commercial duties.
Project Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities
Working as part of the project team, you will be responsible for delivering the following:
Skilled in budgeting, reporting, preparing BOQs, and developing profit plans.
Demonstrate strong communication skills, conducting interim commercial meetings with the Client and internal project team.
Provide detailed commercial status reports to the Project Manager and Commercial Manager as required.
Manage subcontractor accounts, including interim valuations and final accounts. Ensure payment certificates are processed and issued in line with agreed subcontract and procurement terms, including the proper application of retentions.
Administer contract obligations and respond to additional Client requirements.
Prepare and issue interim and final accounts, as well as monthly progress applications, inclusive of accurate remeasures, site changes, dayworks, and any relevant contract claims.
Identify cost escalations (material or labour) and ensure these are reported appropriately.
Identify potential commercial risks and promptly report them to senior management, following their direction in progressing work duties.
Maintain an understanding of project scheduling and its commercial implications. Collaborate closely with the Planning Engineer to ensure accuracy of progress reporting.
Cost and agree daily work changes, including management of subcontractor remeasurements, dayworks, and site change orders.
Maintain accurate records and provide detailed backup documentation to support commercial tracking and costing.
Work independently and prioritise tasks effectively without constant supervision.
Ensure information is delivered with speed and accuracy.
Negotiate with clients or client representatives when necessary.
Act as a mentor to junior team members.
Demonstrate enthusiasm, loyalty, and a strong work ethic in all duties.
Uphold the highest levels of quality in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards and the company’s quality management systems.
Proactively maintain information security and adhere to all company management systems.

Requirements
Third-level qualification in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying.
5+ years’ experience working on electrical projects.
Strong knowledge of contract law.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
High attention to detail.
Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Full clean driving licence.
