An established and design-focused landscape practice is seeking an Experienced Landscape Architect with 5+ years of professional experience to join their creative and collaborative team. Ideally chartered (though this is not essential), the successful candidate will bring a passion for thoughtful, high-quality design and a strong understanding of working in sensitive, often historic contexts.
Based in a picturesque rural location, this role would suit someone who enjoys the balance of creative challenge and countryside living — access to a car is essential.
About the Studio:
This small, friendly practice is known for its modern design work within historically significant settings, where contemporary interventions must respond sensitively to context and heritage. The studio does not work on large-scale residential or industrial developments, instead focusing on high-end garden design, bespoke private projects, and complex planning schemes that demand a nuanced design approach.
The team currently includes two directors, two senior designers, several graduates, and a trusted group of freelance collaborators. The culture is open and welcoming, with regular team outings, studio trips, and a strong emphasis on shared creativity and support.
Ideal Candidate:
Holds a degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field
Has 5+ years’ experience in a professional landscape architecture role
Chartered status (CMLI) is desirable but not essential
Strong design skills and a portfolio that demonstrates sensitivity to historic or heritage contexts
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a small team
A full driving licence and access to a car (due to rural studio location)
Why Apply?
This is a rare opportunity to work with a highly regarded, design-led studio where creativity, collaboration, and craftsmanship are genuinely valued. For the right candidate, this role offers space to grow, make a meaningful impact, and enjoy a better balance of life and work in a beautiful setting.
