Our client is a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure and civil engineering solutions across the UK. With a diverse portfolio spanning marine, coastal, infrastructure and wider civil engineering projects, the business combines technical expertise with a practical, collaborative approach. Its maritime team works across a range of challenging projects, with opportunities to contribute to both UK and selected international schemes.
The Role
We are looking for a Maritime Design Engineer with a civil engineering background to join an established and growing technical team. You will be involved in the design and delivery of maritime and coastal infrastructure projects, working predominantly on UK schemes with some opportunity to gain international exposure.
The role will suit a civil engineer who is keen to develop or build on their experience within the maritime sector and enjoys working on technically challenging projects. You will have the opportunity to contribute throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to construction support, while working closely with clients, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
About You
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Previous experience in civil engineering design, ideally with exposure to maritime, coastal, ports, harbours or marine infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, with relevant design experience in areas such as concrete, steel, earthworks, foundations or marine structures.
- Experience using relevant engineering design and analysis software, with strong general technical and numerical skills.
- Ability to produce and review technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications.
- Comfortable working as part of a multi-disciplinary project team and communicating effectively with clients and colleagues.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage your own workload and deliver work to agreed deadlines.
- Chartered or working towards ICE membership/Chartered status would be advantageous.
Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected engineering consultancy and develop your career within a specialist maritime environment. You will work on a varied portfolio of projects, gaining exposure to complex UK schemes alongside opportunities to contribute to international work.
