Network Engineer

You will act as a critical pillar in delivering secure, reliable, and high-performing network infrastructure that powers our global enterprise operations.managing advanced network systems including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless technologies. You will contribute to configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting networks that support seamless connectivity for the companies worldwide business ecosystem.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
As a Junior Network Engineer, you will provide essential support to the day-to-day operations of the enterprise network infrastructure, working closely with senior engineers to ensure operational excellence. This role offers hands-on experience in network configuration, monitoring, and incident resolution, with a clear pathway to develop expertise in network design, optimization, and project leadership. You’ll play a key role in maintaining network reliability while growing your skills in a fast-paced, innovative environment, preparing you for advanced responsibilities in network engineering.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Support planned network upgrades, migrations, and changes, ensuring accurate configurations and comprehensive documentation.

• Configure, operate, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, to ensure optimal performance and availability.

• Monitor network performance using advanced tools (e.g., SNMP, Cisco Prime, or other NMS platforms), proactively addressing alerts and incidents.

• Conduct initial troubleshooting of network issues, including connectivity problems, routing errors, switching issues, and IP configuration challenges,

• Assist in implementing and testing firewall policies and security configurations under senior engineer guidance to safeguard network integrity.

• Perform initial troubleshooting of network faults (connectivity, routing, switching, IP configuration)

• Collaborate with the Security Team to investigate and mitigate network security incidents, contributing to a secure enterprise environment.

• Stay updated on emerging network technologies and contribute ideas for continuous improvement of network operations.

• Professional certifications preferred: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

Essential

• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., RIP, OSPF, BGP).

• Familiarity with Layer 2/3 switching and routing technologies and their practical applications.

• Hands-on experience configuring network devices via command-line interfaces (e.g., Cisco IOS, Viptela or Versa).

• Proficiency in network monitoring and log analysis using industry-standard tools.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.

• Ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-organized technical documentation, including network diagrams and reports.

• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to learning and professional development.

• Functional English proficiency for reading technical manuals, interpreting logs, and communicating with global teams.

Advantage -

• Experience with network security practices, such as firewall management or intrusion detection systems.  

HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hour week. .
