As Planning Team Lead, you will lead a high-performing team of planning professionals to deliver high-quality planning advice and services for a variety of projects. You will oversee planning applications, environmental assessments, stakeholder engagement, and compliance processes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planners, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Oversee resource allocation, workload planning, and project prioritisation within the planning team.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance on all planning deliverables.

 

Project Delivery

  • Manage the preparation and submission of planning applications, EIAs, and related documentation.
  • Oversee planning input into renewable energy, infrastructure, and development projects from feasibility to consent stages.
  • Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and stakeholders to facilitate project approvals.

Strategic Contribution

  • Support business development by contributing to bids, tenders, and proposals.
  • Monitor changes in planning legislation and policy to ensure compliance and provide strategic advice.
  • Contribute to company-wide initiatives on sustainability, innovation, and operational improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant degree in Town Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered membership of the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years’ professional planning experience, including team management.
  • Strong understanding of Irish planning legislation, policy, and environmental assessment processes.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working on renewable energy, infrastructure, or environmental projects.
  • Experience across both urban and rural planning contexts.
  • Familiarity with cross-border planning considerations in Ireland/UK.
