ATG are working with a leading global consultancy with a presence in over 30 countries, delivering integrated solutions across environmental, engineering, and sustainability sectors. They are seeking a highly experienced Principal Environmental Consultant to join their Dublin office and lead high-profile projects for diverse international clients.

Role Overview:
The Principal Environmental Consultant will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, technical expertise, and client-facing advisory services across a broad spectrum of environmental projects. This role requires a combination of deep technical knowledge, project management experience, and the ability to develop and grow client relationships in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex environmental projects, ensuring delivery to the highest technical and professional standards.
  • Provide expert advice on environmental impact assessments (EIA), permitting, regulatory compliance, remediation, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide junior consultants, fostering technical excellence and professional development.
  • Identify business development opportunities and contribute to proposal writing and bid management.
  • Keep abreast of emerging environmental regulations, industry trends, and best practices to inform client solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across international offices to deliver integrated solutions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10–15 years’ experience in environmental consultancy, including significant leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in managing high-value, complex projects for multinational clients.
  • Strong technical expertise in areas such as EIA, environmental permitting, contaminated land, air quality, water resources, and sustainability assessments.
  • Excellent understanding of Irish and EU environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Professional accreditation or membership (e.g., Chartered Environmentalist, IEMA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.

  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in business development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and clients across multiple countries.
  • Strategic thinker with problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
