As a Pre-Construction Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of Scottish Water framework projects. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and preparing designs and documentation for water and wastewater infrastructure works, ensuring projects are ready for efficient execution. This position offers the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure that directly impacts communities across Scotland.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients, design teams, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions during the pre-construction phase.
- Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to identify risks, opportunities, and project requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of feasibility studies, budgets, and schedules.
- Liaise with project managers, estimators, and procurement teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and resource allocation.
- Support the development of construction methodologies, phasing plans, and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with Scottish Water standards, regulatory requirements, and health and safety protocols.
- Participate in design reviews and value engineering exercises.
- Prepare detailed documentation for submission, including technical reports, proposals, and method statements.
Candidate Profile:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Previous experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Scottish Water frameworks, standards, and specifications.
- Proficiency in design and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project).
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Full UK driving license.
