This is a strategic leadership role, combining business development, client engagement and project delivery across complex multidisciplinary schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the pursuit and delivery of major rail and metro infrastructure projects.
  • Develop relationships with key clients including Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), National Transport Authority (NTA), Iarnród Éireann and international delivery partners.
  • Support the consultancy's expansion into MetroLink through strategic planning, bid leadership and framework opportunities.
  • Direct multidisciplinary project teams across engineering, environmental and project management disciplines.
  • Provide commercial oversight, programme governance and risk management on high-value projects.
  • Mentor and develop senior technical and project management staff.
  • Represent the business at industry events and with public sector stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer (Engineers Ireland, ICE or equivalent).
  • Typically 15+ years' experience delivering major infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary transportation or rail programmes.
  • Strong understanding of Irish public sector procurement and project delivery.
  • Proven track record in winning and delivering large consultancy commissions.
  • Excellent commercial, contractual and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication and business development capabilities.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience on metro, heavy rail, light rail or mass transit projects.
  • Knowledge of MetroLink, DART+, BusConnects or other nationally significant Irish infrastructure programmes.
  • Experience delivering projects under NEC and/or FIDIC contracts.
  • Familiarity with BIM, digital project delivery and programme management best practice.
  • Experience managing international project teams across multiple offices.

What's on Offer

  • Opportunity to shape the consultancy's long-term growth within Ireland's largest transport investment programme.
  • Leadership role within a globally recognised engineering consultancy.
  • Involvement in nationally significant infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent career progression into Regional Director or Transportation Lead positions.
  • Competitive salary, performance bonus, comprehensive benefits and flexible working arrangements.
