Our client is a respected SME drilling contractor specialising in geotechnical ground investigation, with well-established offices across England and Scotland. Known for delivering high-quality site investigation and drilling services, they operate on a national scale supporting infrastructure, construction, and energy projects throughout the UK. With continued growth and a commitment to technical excellence, they are now seeking a skilled Senior or Principal Engineer to take a leading role in managing and maintaining the quality of their technical reporting.
This position will focus on overseeing the reporting and quality output from the Contracts Department. As this is a UK-wide role, the successful candidate can be based in any of the client’s four regional offices—Durham, Glasgow, Manchester, or Hungerford. The role will involve managing the factual reporting process, ensuring consistency and compliance across all regional operations, and providing mentorship and technical guidance to engineers and project managers. You’ll play a vital part in maintaining the integrity of technical deliverables, ensuring reports meet the highest professional and regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Chartered status (CEng or equivalent) preferred, or working towards chartership.
- Strong technical background in geotechnical ground investigation.
- Proven experience in managing or reviewing factual reporting processes.
- Excellent understanding of relevant industry standards, specifications, and quality management systems.
- Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams across multiple locations.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in data validation, review, and interpretation processes.
