Senior / Principal Technician

We are working on behalf of a highly regarded, independent consultancy with a strong reputation for technical excellence and collaborative delivery. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior / Principal Technician to join their technical team and play a key role in supporting complex projects across multiple sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious technician who is looking to take ownership of work, mentor others, and be closely involved in the technical delivery of high-quality projects from concept through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing high-quality technical drawings and documentation using current CAD and BIM software
• Supporting project teams across all RIBA stages, from early concept to construction
• Coordinating technical information with internal teams and external consultants
• Ensuring drawings and models comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practice
• Reviewing and checking work produced by junior technicians and providing technical guidance
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of drawing standards, workflows, and BIM processes
• Working closely with project leads to manage deadlines, workload, and deliverables

We are keen to speak with technicians who can demonstrate:

• Proven experience in a Senior or Principal Technician role within a consultancy or similar environment
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM experience is essential)
• A solid understanding of current building regulations and technical standards
• Experience working on medium to large-scale projects across one or more sectors
• The ability to manage and prioritise workloads across multiple projects
• Confidence in coordinating with consultants and contributing to technical discussions
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent attention to detail
